The Flavors of a Blizzard! Film at Eleven!
The blizzard came quite quickly. Two snow days for my son - in a row - has caused rejoicing in his 10 year old heart. Sunshine has descended today and I can almost hear the trickling of the melting white masses.
One thing that I have found amusing is the news coverage of the blizzard. I find great humor in the fact that the news programs title the blizzard coverage.
Three that I noticed last night:
STORM FORCE!
BLIZZARD 2009
BEATING THE BLIZZARD!
I wish I could have attended the committee meeting when whoever "they" are decided upon a name for the coverage. John and I conducted our own meeting. The following are the results for our own Denver Iobst blizzard:
MILD WINTER'S REVENGE!
THANK GOD WE OWN A CONDO AND DON'T HAVE HAVE TO SHOVEL A DRIVEWAY 2009!
THIS AIN'T NOTHING COMPARED TO BLIZZARD 2006!
DUDE WHERE'S MY CAR!
YOU KNOW IT'S A BLIZZARD WHEN EVEN THE DOG DOESN'T WANT TO GO OUT!
and finally,
TURN UP THE HEATER JOHN!

My dog didn't want to go out either. At first, she would, but then as soon as I opened the door, she would walk the other way. Right now she's cuddled up next to me. I'm sure she's still recovering from this morning's trek through the chest-high snow (she's a boxer with long legs).
Robbie, thanks for popping in at my blog! So nice to hear from you. Your blizzard is headed our way from what I hear. Tonight or tomorrow is D-day for us. Good grief :)
Jo, We should meet at the Dog Park sometime! Thanks for stopping by!
Cheryl, I really like your blog and your newsletter. I hope your spring break was relaxing. If the blizzard is headed your way, get a couple of movies and a book and enjoy the inside time. :0)
Right now we have thunder and lightning, a couple chili cheese dogs earlier but no blizzard here...
Ralph You are FUNNY! You know that, right? You do? Seriously. Funny. In fact you are an oxymoron - seriously funny!
I just love your sense of humor Robbie. We didn't get enough to bother with shoveling. We had about 6" on the driveway and it was all melted by noon - which is the beauty of living on the south side and the fact that it's spring. :)
It would be nice to have just one more storm - for the sake of my yard. Even though I'm tired of winter.
I posted my snow pictures here:

LOVE those titles - Dude Where's My car? - fits. Oklahoma got dumped on too - now we have flood warnings with all of the melting. It seems like everyone got hit. One last hurrah from Mother Nature. Hopefully this will be the last of it. My poor flowers don't know what hit them.
